A little about me as a therapist
Hello and welcome! Starting therapy with a new counselor can sometimes be stressful or make you feel nervous. I have spent the past few years working in the mental health field and am dedicated to continuing to grow and learn throughout my life and career.
My therapy style
When I am not working
Every person who comes to therapy has different needs and personalities so I try to be eclectic in my approach and see what therapy styles work best for them. I want you to feel like you have a voice in therapy and that you can work with me to find the methods that best suit you.
Some theories that I have experience in are Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems Model (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and the Social Justice Model. Aside from the methods that I use in counseling, I would say that our sessions will generally feel relaxed and informal. My intention is for you to feel comfortable and like you can talk to me about anything without judgement.
